Top 5 Digital Trends to Ignore at Your Peril

Successful marketers know well how quickly trends can form in the online marketplace. Not-For-Profits are no exception to the value you can create for an organisation by staying abreast of the ever-changing digital landscape. Follow these tips to keep yourself in the loop and your targets engaged!

1: Nano and micro Influencers:

The best kind of marketing or public relations is the kind that doesn't even come from you! The end goal of any campaign should be people recommending you to their friends and family. These smaller-scale influencers on social media can access a network of individuals that will trust your message. Don't waste your marketing budget on what users will only see as an advertisement.

2: Social media as a point of sale

While we all want users to visit our owned media devoid of those pesky internet trolls, why bother making them run the gamut to get involved? Organisations will have to adapt to these new rules or go the way of the Sears catalogue.

3: Engage the trolls

Speaking of the bridge-dwellers, a Not-For-Profit should hopefully have less provocateurs than your average business but time and time again we see savvy social media managers be able to interact and use any engagement whatsoever to their advantage.

4: Less can be more on social

It's an easy temptation to reach your audience across every channel imaginable with a glut of content, but if you don't have the resources to properly tailor it for the platform it might be best not to worry and focus on producing high-quality content targeting your major demographics.

5: Go live!

While there are obvious risks to live engagement, creating a two-way street for content keeps your stakeholders engaged with your organisation.
